Regional Studies Center held an electronic seminar entitled (Turkey’s policy towards the Balkan countries during the era of the Justice and Development Party) by Dr. Afrah Nathir Jasim Al-Azzawi, in the presence of the Center’s researchers on Wednesday, 22 July 2020.The researcher (Al-Azzawi) explained that the research is centered around the policy followed by the Justice and Development Party that is based on a set of principles developed by ” Ahmad Davudoğlu ” in his book “The Strategic Depth”, which drew the map of the Turkish foreign policy; on top of these principles “Turkey’s Zero-Problems ” and ” Soft diplomacy, “as this policy provided Turkey with the possibility of establishing advanced relations with many Balkan countries in various fields, then Turkey employed many possibilities and institutions to this end.The researcher added that the research aims to display the most prominent stations of Turkish foreign policy towards the Balkans, at all levels.
