Workshop by Regional Studies Center on the Russian-Ukrainian War

Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul held a workshop entitled “The Russian-Ukrainian War and Its Regional and International Repercussions” on March 13, 2022.The workshop aimed to present working papers to explain the causes of the Russian-Ukrainian war and its economic and political reflections at the regional and international levels, as well as to review the attitudes of the countries of the region towards this war and its consequences in the near future.The workshop included the economic effects and results of the war on Arab countries, including Iraq, with an explanation of the reasons for its being affected economically impact by this war and the extent of the contribution of Russia and Ukraine to the global economy, especially crops and agricultural products, such as wheat and edible oil comparing to the total global gross product.The workshop discussed the political and economic aspects of this war, including; The Arab position towards the war (the Iraqi, Saudi and Emirati attitudes as a case study); The regional attitudes (Turkey and Iran as a case study), the international position and the influence of war in the foreseeable future and its impact on the international system.
