Regional Studies Center held a seminar by Dr. “Afrah Nather Jassem Al-Azzawi” entitled “The Turkish military bases in the Middle East” in the presence of the Center’s researchers, on June 19, 2022.Al-Azzawi indicated that the research aims to study Turkey’s orientation and motives towards establishing military bases in the Middle East, the most important of these bases in addition to analyzing the reasons for setting up these bases.The “researcher” added that in order to understand the situation, the study was divided into three sections. The first section included the Turkish motives for building military bases, The second one involved the Turkish military presence in the Middle East until 2015, while the third section dealt with Turkish military bases after 2015.
