Assistant President for Scientific Affairs visits Regional Studies Center

Within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enhance the role of research centers in Iraqi universities and develop their performance, Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha Al-Badrani, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, accompanied by the Head of the Scientific Affairs Department and the Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, visited Regional Studies Center on October 27, 2024. During the visit, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and the accompanying delegation met with the center’s director, department heads, and faculty members.
The Director of the Center presented the scientific activities of the Center during the academic year 2023-2024 and the scientific plan for the academic year 2024-2025 to the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs ‎. The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs ‎ stressed the importance of scientific publishing and increasing the number of research papers published in local and international journals, and the importance of highlighting the role of research centers in publishing research in accredited international journals, as this has an impact on raising the ranking of Iraqi universities internationally, including the University of Mosul.
The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs also stressed the need to intensify scientific activities, such as symposiums that discuss issues facing society and propose appropriate ideas and solutions, in addition to studying regional issues of importance to Iraq and its surroundings, which are consistent with the center’s mandate, as they have an impact on the political, economic and security level of Iraq.
He concluded his visit by confirming the university’s support for research centers, including the Regional Studies Center, and working to overcome the obstacles that may face their activities.
