Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on Egypt’s Foreign Policy towards Libya
On Sunday, December 15, 2024, Regional Studies Center organized a seminar presented by Assistant Lecturer Munjid Mohammad Al Ghurair entitled “Egypt’s Foreign Policy towards Libya 2011-2023″. The seminar aimed to shed light on the developments of Egyptian policy towards Libya during the last decade and its impact on Egyptian national security, while providing an analytical reading of the challenges and opportunities facing these relations.
The seminar covered four main themes: The first is the historical and political background of Egyptian-Libyan relations: It reviewed the historical development of bilateral relations for decades. The second theme dealt with the dimensions of Egyptian policy towards Libya. The third theme discusses the obstacles to Egyptian policy, such as foreign interference, and the opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations. Finally, the fourth is the implications of Egyptian policy on national security.
The seminar concluded with academic recommendations to promote regional stability and develop Egyptian-Libyan relations to achieve common interests.
