Regional Studies Center Holds a Scientific Lecture on Philosophy of Scientific Research in Humanities
Prof. Dr. Mithaq Khairallah Jalloud, Director of the Regional Studies Center, delivered a scientific lecture entitled “Philosophy of Scientific Research in the Humanities: The Science of History as a Case Study” on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The lecture aimed to provide a comprehensive vision of the philosophy of the humanities and its most important concepts, while emphasizing the philosophy of scientific research and its role in creating the human being as a basic pillar of progress and sustainable development.
The lecture addressed three main themes: The first highlighted the philosophy and nature of scientific research in the humanities. In contrast, the second discussed the importance of the humanities in building societies and shaping cultural identity. The third theme focused on the science of history as a model, reviewing historical research methodologies and their role in understanding and analyzing the past to anticipate the future.
The lecture concluded by emphasizing the significance of promoting scientific research in the humanities to support comprehensive and sustainable development while calling on researchers to pay more attention to this vital field.
