Regional Studies Center Holds a Training Course on the Principles of Writing Theses and Dissertations in Modern and Contemporary History

Regional Studies Center, in cooperation with the Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Mosul, held the second training course entitled “Principles of Writing Theses and Dissertations in Modern and Contemporary History” on March 9-10, 2025 in the Center’s library hall.
The course targeted graduate students in the field of history, as it seeks to improve their research and scientific capabilities, which contributes to developing their academic abilities and enabling them to write their theses and dissertations in a highly professional manner by providing them with basic knowledge that helps them improve their research and academic writing skills. The course also aims to guide participants in how to deal with sources and references, in addition to learning the basics of writing professionally.
The first day of the course curriculum included a lecture entitled “Optimal Handling of Sources” presented by Prof. Dr. Mithaq Khairallah Jaloud, and a lecture entitled “Basics of Writing the Introduction” presented by Prof. Dr. Luqman Omar Mahmood; on the second day, a lecture on “Scientific Research Methods” will be presented by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Younis, followed by another lecture entitled “Basics of Writing the Conclusion” by Assist. Prof. Walid Ahmed Mahmood; after the course, an exam will be conducted and participation certificates will be distributed.
