Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul organized a scientific lecture entitled “The method of calculating the tax in the payroll lists,” presented by Assist. Lect. Ahmad Ghazi Taher, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The lecture aimed to provide a thorough explanation of how to calculate the tax due on salaries in organizations and clarify the methods used to calculate it according to the tax regulations in force in Iraq.
The lecturer reviewed the various criteria that determine the amount of the tax and how to include it in the monthly payroll of employees, in addition to addressing some common mistakes that may occur during the calculation of the tax and how to avoid them, and the effects of this tax on personal income and the economy in general.
The lecture concluded with an open discussion, during which the lecturer answered the attendees’ inquiries and provided valuable advice on accounting and finance.
