Regional Studies Center Organizes a Training Course on Reference Management Using Mendeley

As part of its continuous efforts to develop academic and research skills, Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul organized a specialized training course entitled “How to organize and manage references and sources using Mendeley” on Monday, April 15, 2025.
The course aimed to develop participants’ skills in organizing scientific references in a professional manner using Mendeley, one of the most prominent free international programs in the management of sources and references, which contributes to raising the quality of academic research and facilitating the process of scientific citation.
The course lectures were delivered by Prof. Dr. Bassam Abdulrahman Youssef and lecturer Abdul Ghafour Waadallah Al-Shamaa, who provided a detailed practical explanation on how to create a reference library, list sources, and organize them according to different styles (APA, MLA, Chicago and others), in addition to how to integrate the program with word processing programs such as Microsoft Word.
The course witnessed a remarkable interaction from the participants, who expressed that they benefited from the acquired skills. The course concluded by emphasizing the importance of employing digital tools to support scientific research and promote research culture among academics.
