Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar Discussing the Shift Toward Electronic Payment and its Impact on Financial Security
Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul held a seminar titled: “The shift from cash to electronic payment and its impact on the level of financial security: An exploratory study on a sample of academics at the University of Mosul”, presented by lecturer Ahmad Ghazi Taher Al-Obaidi on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the rapid shift towards electronic payment systems, and the extent of the impact of this shift on the financial security of individuals, especially in the university environment, through a field study that included a sample of academics at the University of Mosul.
The seminar addressed several themes, including the motivations for the shift towards e-payment, the challenges facing users, and ways to enhance trust in electronic systems. The results of the study were also presented, which showed a growing awareness of the importance of e-payment, but concerns related to hacking and data protection, reflecting the need to develop digital infrastructure and promote a culture of cybersecurity.
