The Board of Directors of Regional Studies Center Holds its Eighth Regular Meeting to Discuss Research Pathways and Sustainable Development

The Board of Directors of the Regional Studies Center held its eighth regular meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, chaired by the Center’s Director, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tariq Mohammad Taieb Al-Qassar, and attended by all board members.

During the meeting, several key issues were discussed to enhance the Center’s academic and research performance. Most notably, the meeting focused on defining the research pathway for each researcher within their specialization, aligning with the Center’s research and strategic directions. Emphasis was also placed on forming specialized research teams to publish in globally recognized Scopus-indexed journals, aiming to improve the quality of academic research and elevate the Center’s ranking.

Additionally, the Board explored ways to integrate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the Center’s projects, identifying priority goals that the Center can contribute to, particularly those related to governance, education, and community development. The meeting also addressed several administrative and organizational matters relevant to the Center’s operations and future plans.

The meeting concluded with actionable recommendations to further advance the Center’s scientific and community excellence, while reinforcing collaborative research efforts and integrated initiatives to achieve the Center’s strategic vision.
