Regional Studies Center Participates in Workshop on Green Metric World Ranking Indicators

As part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing efforts to achieve a prominent standing in global university rankings and to strengthen its academic position, the Department of Studies and Planning at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, organized a special workshop on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The workshop focused on monitoring the process of filling in the indicators required for the Green Metric World University Ranking.
The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding of the relevant staff regarding the requirements of the Green Metric ranking—one of the most recognized international rankings that evaluates universities based on their environmental sustainability efforts and social responsibility. The ranking emphasizes practices such as energy conservation, waste management, increasing green spaces, and raising environmental awareness among students and the surrounding community.
The workshop was attended by Prof.Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Al-Obaidi, Head of the Studies and Planning Unit, representing the Center’s Director; Assist. Prof. Faris Turki Mahmood, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit; and Mr. Nasir Mutlag Abid, Head of Media and Government Communication.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants stressed the importance of collaboration among all academic and administrative units to achieve tangible progress in global rankings. This aligns with the university’s vision of advancing sustainability and academic excellence, particularly in support of Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.
