Director and Members of Regional Studies Center Participate in Scientific Symposium on Research and Global Rankings at the University of Mosul
Assist. Prof. Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhaher, Director of the Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul, accompanied by members of the Center’s Board, took part in a scientific symposium organized by the university’s presidency on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The symposium, titled “Iraqi Scientific Research Between Aspirations and Global Rankings: Tools and Challenges,” featured a lecture by Prof. Dr. Haidar Abdul Dhahad, Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was attended by a group of academics and researchers.
This participation reflects the Center’s commitment to engaging in academic activities that focus on the current state of scientific research in Iraq and explore ways to enhance and align it with international standards.
It also supports institutional efforts aimed at improving the global ranking of Iraqi universities and aligns with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4): “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all,” by highlighting the role of research as a cornerstone of higher education development.
