Regional Studies Center Holds a Lecture on Unified Retirement Law
Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul organized an awareness lecture titled “Explanation of the Unified Retirement Law”, delivered by Senior Manager Walid Salah Yassin on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The lecture aimed to enhance the legal and administrative awareness of employees by acquainting them with the rights and obligations set forth in the Unified Retirement Law, as well as clarifying the recent amendments to legislations concerning retirees’ rights and the mechanisms for benefiting from them.
Key provisions of the law were reviewed, including employees’ entitlements upon retirement, the regulations governing pension benefits, and the administrative procedures that facilitate the transition from service to retirement. The lecture also emphasized the importance of employees being fully aware of their rights to avoid potential future complications.
This activity aligns with Goal (16) of the Sustainable Development Goals (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which underscores the need to build effective and transparent institutions that uphold justice and safeguard individual rights.
