Regional Studies Center Participates in Workshop on Strategic Planning for Colleges and Centers

As part of its ongoing efforts to advance academic and administrative performance, the Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the College of Administration and Economics, organized a specialized workshop on preparing Five-Year Strategy (2025-2030) for colleges and research centers on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Luqman Omar Al-Naemi, representing the Director of the Center, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Al-Obaidi, Head of the Studies and Planning Unit at the Regional Studies Center.

The workshop aimed to establish a comprehensive methodology for drafting strategic plans that enhance the quality of academic and research performance, ensure alignment with scientific and academic directions, and support the Sustainable Development Goals. Discussions also covered mechanisms for setting performance indicators, as well as the importance of monitoring and evaluation in achieving set objectives.

The workshop concluded with an emphasis that preparing these plans represents a strategic step toward a more distinguished future for the University of Mosul, in line with the SDGs, including Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), thereby reinforcing the university’s role in serving the community.
