Regional Studies Center Director Participates Ministerial Efforts to Enhance Political Science Colleges in Iraq

With the aim of enhancing the quality of higher education and advancing the research environment, Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhaher, Director of the Regional Studies Center, took part in the work of the ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the academic and scientific status of political science colleges and departments at the Universities of Mosul, Kirkuk, Tikrit, and Anbar.

The committee’s work included field visits and in-depth discussions with department administrations and faculty members, as well as reviewing curricula, infrastructure, and research activities. Special focus was given to assessing student performance and learning outcomes, and their alignment with the needs of the labor market and Iraq’s political and social environment.

Committee members affirmed that their recommendations would be submitted to the Ministry for adoption within developmental plans aimed at raising academic performance and strengthening the quality of education.

The committee concluded its work by stressing that the development of political science colleges represents a cornerstone in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education and Goal 16 on promoting effective institutions and building peace.
