Regional Studies Center Board Holds Regular Meeting to Advance Scientific Research and Sustainable Development

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic standing and societal role, the Board of Directors of the Regional Studies Center held its first regular meeting on Sunday, August 31, 2025, chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhaher, Director of the Center, with the participation of board members.
The meeting focused on discussing future research plans, agreeing to define specific scientific tracks for each researcher in line with the Center’s priorities and overall strategy. It also emphasized the importance of forming specialized research teams aimed at publishing in Scopus-indexed journals, thereby enhancing academic output and broadening the Center’s visibility.
The board also addressed the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the Center’s research projects, with particular attention to areas where the Center could make a tangible impact within its academic and social environment. Discussions further covered several organizational and administrative matters related to supporting development plans.
The meeting concluded with practical recommendations to strengthen collaboration among researchers through joint scientific teams, pushing the Center toward greater leadership in research and community service. Sustainable development was highlighted as a central pillar of its future activities, particularly through contributions to Goal 4 (Quality Education) by improving research standards, Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by supporting scientific advancement, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering cooperation at all levels.
