Regional Studies Center Holds an Academic Discussion on Research Topics for 2025-2026 Academic Year

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Regional Studies Center held an academic discussion chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhahir, Director of the Center, with the participation of faculty members. The session was organized as part of the Center’s commitment to upholding its academic traditions in reviewing and guiding research directions in line with its vision and mission to serve the community and promote sustainable development.
During the session, researchers presented their proposed research topics for the 2025-2026 academic year, distinguished by clear objectives and precise content, with a focus on their relevance to current regional issues and societal needs. Emphasis was also placed on adherence to quality and scientific rigor, ensuring that the anticipated results would provide practical solutions to support decision-makers and enrich the academic environment.
The discussions concluded with the development of a roadmap for the final review and approval of the proposed topics. These studies are intended to serve as a knowledge resource that reinforces the Center’s position as an effective research institution and underscores its commitment to producing strategic studies that contribute to achieving sustainable national and regional development goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
