Regional Studies Center Council Holds its Regular Meeting to Promote Transparency and Scientific Research

The Council of the Regional Studies Center held its regular meeting on Sunday, September 7, 2025, chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhaher, the Council’s President, with the participation of its members. The meeting marked a step toward strengthening transparency and enhancing the Center’s academic and research role in serving both the university and the wider community.
Dr. Tareq opened the session with remarks highlighting that the purpose of the meeting was to develop research plans that keep pace with regional changes and contribute to providing strategic insights and solutions. He stressed that the Center aspires to be a leading scientific platform that bridges knowledge and decision-making through academic conferences, applied studies, and both national and international partnerships.
The session included discussions on several key topics, most notably exploring opportunities to expand cooperation with universities and think tanks. Members contributed constructive interventions, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the Center’s role in supporting local and regional development through rigorous scientific research.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to adopt the proposed recommendations and to hold regular open sessions to ensure broad participation and continuous development. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all), Goal 16 (promoting effective, accountable, and transparent institutions), and Goal 17 (strengthening partnerships for the achievement of the goals).
