Regional Studies Center Concludes Training Course to Promote Integrity, Transparency, and Anti-Corruption Awareness

The Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul concluded a training course organized by the Continuing Education Unit, titled “Introducing Anti-Corruption Prevention Measures and Their Role in Promoting a Culture of Integrity, Transparency, and Upright Professional Conduct”. The course was held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 29–30, 2025, at the Center’s Library Hall.

The program aimed to enhance awareness of the risks of administrative and financial corruption and to reinforce principles of ethical conduct among faculty and staff members. A number of distinguished academics delivered lectures during the two-day course. Prof. Dr.  Imad Khalil Ibrahim presented a lecture titled “The Role of Public Service Ethics in Reducing Corruption: The Code of Conduct as a Model”. Prof. Dr.  Mithaq Khairallah Jaloud discussed “The Societal Perspective on Financial and Administrative Corruption in Iraq and the Role of Transparency and Integrity in Combating It”. Meanwhile, Assist. Prof. Dr. Fares Turki Mahmoud delivered a presentation on “Methods for Promoting Values and Concepts of Integrity and Combating Corruption”.

In addition, Prof. Dr.  Mohammad Abdulrahman Younis lectured on “Crimes of Breach of Public Duties”, followed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdulrazzaq Khalaf Mohammed, who spoke about “The Role of Education in Spreading Values of Integrity and Fighting Corruption”. The course concluded with a lecture by Assist. Lecturer Zeinab Abdulilah Abdulkarim titled “The Employee’s Rights Charter During Administrative Investigation”.

The course emphasized the importance of strengthening transparency within institutional work and upholding the principles of integrity in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions, Goal 4 on quality education, and Goal 17 on partnerships for the goals, reflecting the University of Mosul’s commitment to promoting integrity and accountability within higher education institutions.
