Regional Studies Center Director Shares Insights in Scholarly Debate at the Foreign Service Institute

The Director of Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Dhahir, took part in a scholarly discussion organized by the Foreign Service Institute at the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the research titled ‘Employing Artificial Intelligence in International Relations: The United States as a Model.’ The event was held on Monday, 24 November 2025, in Ambassador Ismat Kittani Hall at the ministry’s headquarters.
Dr. Tayeb participated as a member and supervisor within a specialized academic committee chaired by the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs, with the participation of several experts, academics, and ambassadors.
This participation underscores the active role of Regional Studies Center in supporting scientific research and advancing specialized studies in international relations, contributing to the fulfillment of sustainable development goals, particularly:
Goal 4: Quality Education, by enhancing scientific research and encouraging knowledge exchange between academic and diplomatic institutions.
Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through supporting rigorous analysis of foreign policy and strengthening knowledge-based institutional work and future-oriented planning.
The Center continues to engage in specialized academic activities, reaffirming its commitment to serving society and the academic environment, and supporting national efforts to monitor global developments and employ modern technologies in decision-making.
