Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on Negative Phenomena in the Academic Environment

Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul organized, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, a seminar entitled “Negative Phenomena in the Academic Community and Mechanisms for Addressing Them”, held at the Center’s Hall.
The seminar addressed a number of negative practices affecting the academic environment and their impact on the quality of education and scientific research, emphasizing that addressing such challenges is closely linked to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
Goal 4: Quality Education
Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Participants stressed the importance of promoting academic integrity, transparency, and institutional responsibility, as well as enforcing university laws and regulations, in order to build an educational environment that supports sustainable development.
The seminar concluded with a call to translate its outcomes into practical recommendations that would strengthen the university’s role in serving the community and advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
