Scientific Committee at Regional Studies Center Holds its Regular Meeting

The Scientific Committee at Regional Studies Center held its regular meeting at the Center’s headquarters on Monday, January 5, 2026, with committee members in attendance, to discuss a range of scientific and administrative matters included on the agenda.
The meeting addressed a review of the Center’s proposed research plans and mechanisms for enhancing the quality of scientific output, in addition to discussing upcoming academic activities, including seminars, workshops, and scientific conferences, in line with research priorities and societal needs.
The Committee also emphasized the importance of directing research and studies toward regional and developmental issues, and of strengthening scientific cooperation with universities and research centers inside and outside Iraq, in a manner that contributes to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education, Goal 16 on building effective institutions, and Goal 17 on strengthening academic partnerships.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee issued a set of recommendations aimed at advancing the Center’s scientific performance and reinforcing its research and advisory role in serving the university and the wider community.
