Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on Economic and Social Reforms in Algeria

Regional Studies Center held a seminar by Dr. “Kifah Abbas Al-Hamdani” entitled “Economic and Social Reforms in Algeria (1999-2019)”, in the presence of the Center’s researchers, on October 23, 2022.”Al-Hamdani “, said that the research aims to study and analyze the essential economic and social indicators in Algeria during the era of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, by tracking the variables and trends of the state’s progress or regression through the implementation of development plans (1999-2014), based on the statistics related to that period.The researcher added that the study was divided into an introduction and five main sections. The introduction shows the most prominent development plans in Algeria from independence until 1999. The economic and social reforms in Algeria were divided into five basic development programs. The first section included “The economic recovery support program during the period (2001-2004)”. The second one involved “The Supplementary Program to Support Economic Growth between (2005-2009)”. While the third section discussed “the Five-Year Program for Development during (2010-2014”. The fourth one dealt with “the program of consolidation and economic growth (2015-2019)”. The fifth section studied the “New Growth Model Program, which was later called the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (2016-2030”.
