Workshop Organized by the Tourism Studies Department
Under the patronage of the esteemed Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi and the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, the Tourism Studies Department, in coordination with the Sarh Environmental Protection Organization, held a scientific workshop titled “Environmental Pollution and Its Impact on Tourism in Mosul’s Forests” on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall. Faculty members and students of the college attended the workshop.
The workshop began with a moment of silence to honor the martyrs, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, welcoming the distinguished attendees and emphasizing the importance of the workshop and the significant role of environmental protection in promoting tourism in Mosul.
The session was headed by Dr. Asan Hashem Hamdoun, Head of the Tourism Studies Department, and addressed by the following esteemed speakers:
- Dr. Hanaa Ihsan Al-Baroudi, President of the Sarh Heritage Protection Organization.
- Assistant Lecturer Fadia Abdul Hamid, Tourism Studies Department.
The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of environmental pollution, its underlying causes, and its impact on Mosul’s forests, as well as the importance of preserving the environment in Mosul as a tourist landmark and natural attraction.
At the end, the Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers in recognition of their efforts.
