College of Tourism Sciences

The Scientific Promotions Committee at the College of Tourism Sciences held its meeting on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Luqman Mohammed Ayoub Al-Dabbagh from the Department of Accounting, College of Administration and Economics, with the presence of Ms. Ghaida Mohammed Nafi’, Head of the Scientific Promotions Unit at the college.

Committee members in attendance included:

• Asst. Prof. Dr. Uday Salem Ali – College of Administration and Economics
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashti Abdul Sattar Abdul Ghani – College of Administration and Economics
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Talal Khidr – College of Education for Human Sciences
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Hani Abdul Ghani Abdullah – College of Archaeology

The meeting aimed to discuss ministerial laws and regulations related to academic promotions, as well as updates on procedures and the progress of promotion applications within the college. The committee also explored the possibility of organizing a future workshop on “Academic Promotion.”

This meeting aligns with guidelines issued by the University President to enhance the academic standing of the University of Mosul and ensure its integrity, in accordance with ministerial directives.

At the conclusion, Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud welcomed the committee members, commending their efforts in managing the promotion processes of the college’s academic staff.

These efforts are in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing the academic competencies of teaching staff, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by ensuring effective governance, transparency, and accountability in academic and administrative procedures.
