The Department of Tourism Studies Organizes a Scientific Workshop Titled “The Role of Women and Accountants in Tourist Guiding”

As part of the scientific activities organized by the College of Tourism Sciences, and under the direction of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, Dean of the College, the Department of Tourism Studies, in cooperation with the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, held a scientific workshop titled “The Role of Women and the Accountant in Tourism Guiding” on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
This workshop is part of the college’s ongoing series of workshops and initiatives aimed at raising awareness and broadening the horizons of students and stakeholders in the tourism sector.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Huda Abdulaziz Mohammed, in the presence of Head of the Department of Tourism Studies, Dr. Asn Hashim Hamdoun, and Department Rapporteur, Dr. Haitham Ahmed Hassan, along with several faculty members. The session included questions and discussions that enriched the content and deepened understanding of the topic.

The workshop aimed to highlight the role of women in tourism guiding and the importance of their active participation in this vital sector, as well as discuss the role of accountants in ensuring financial transparency and promoting sustainable tourism.

At the conclusion, the Dean of the College expressed his gratitude to Ms. Huda Abdulaziz for her efforts in organizing the workshop, wishing her continued success and achievement.

This initiative aligns with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting women’s participation in economic and cultural sectors, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing professional competencies and ensuring financial transparency to support sustainable tourism.
