The Tourism Studies Department Holds a Scientific Workshop

As part of the scientific activities organized by the college, and in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the Department of Studies and Planning, and the Sustainable Development Unit, and under the guidance of the Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmood, the Department of Tourism Studies held a scientific workshop entitled “Using Intelligent Chatbots as a Tool for Tourist Guidance” on Wednesday, 2/5/2025. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college to enhance awareness and broaden the perspectives of staff members and those interested in the field of tourism.
The workshop was conducted by Asst. Lecturer Osama Mohammed Al-Atraqji, with the attendance of the Dean of the College, the Head of the Tourism Studies Department, Dr. Asan Hashim Hamdoun, along with several staff members. The session also included a set of questions and discussions that enriched the topic.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of using modern technologies, such as intelligent chatbots, in improving and developing tourist guidance. It also sought to raise awareness among attendees on how to benefit from these digital tools to enhance and facilitate the tourist experience, in addition to improving work efficiency in the field. The workshop emphasized the role of chatbots in providing tourist information in an innovative and effective manner while offering an interactive experience for users.
This workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly (Goal 4, as it promotes quality education through the dissemination of modern digital knowledge), (Goal 9, as it supports innovation and advanced technological infrastructure in the field of tourist guidance), and (Goal 8, as it contributes to developing a modern work environment that enhances efficiency within the tourism sector).
