College of Tourism Sciences

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmood, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Sustainable Development Unit / Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Mosul, the College of Tourism Sciences organized a scientific workshop titled “Effective Communication in Family Leadership and the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Communication,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdullah Hussein on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of social communication in strengthening and understanding family relationships, explain how artificial intelligence can be utilised to improve communication within the family, and offer practical solutions to build a positive family environment. It also emphasised enhancing problem-solving abilities, reinforcing family bonds, and increasing interaction effectiveness among family members, which contributes to family stability and the development of leadership skills within the household.

The workshop was attended by the Dean, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and several staff members, who enriched the discussion with valuable contributions.

This workshop aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting knowledge-based family awareness, Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by supporting the empowerment of women within the family, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through fostering family dialogue and cohesion as a foundation for a stable and balanced society.
