Institutional Accreditation Committee Visits the College of Tourism Sciences to Assess Academic Quality Standards

On Monday, February 17, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences and Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the Scientific Assistant Dean, welcomed the ministerial team responsible for granting institutional accreditation. Prof. Dr. Haider Hatem Al-Ajrash, the representative of the Institutional Accreditation Committee, led the team. It was accompanied by several council members and the national evaluation team as part of a visit to review the college’s compliance with institutional accreditation standards.

The delegation was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, the University President’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Nuha Saleem, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at the University of Mosul.

The visit included a presentation highlighting the college’s achievements, future plans, and significance, especially in light of the growing tourism sector in Nineveh Governorate. Additionally, the presentation addressed aligning the college’s academic programs with quality and accreditation standards.

The committee also reviewed the files of the Quality Assurance Division and the Scientific Unit and examined various aspects related to academic and administrative practices, challenges in meeting quality standards, and ways to enhance the educational environment.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee commended the college’s efforts in fulfilling the requirements for institutional accreditation and its commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
