The Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences Joins a Ministerial Committee

The Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, has been appointed as a member of the ministerial committee tasked with developing programs to highlight and enhance the cultural, religious, and historical Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences Joins a Ministerial Committee heritage of Baghdad, in support of the government’s efforts for the “Baghdad: Arab Capital of Tourism 2025” initiative.

The committee held its meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2024, at the Directorate of Research and Development, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Directorate.

During the meeting, the Dean presented a series of proposals to support the “Baghdad: Arab Capital of Tourism 2025” activities, including:

  1. Announcing tourism-related events on all official websites.
  2. Launching marketing campaigns in airports, border crossings, and ports to promote the events.
  3. Inviting prominent figures from the arts and music industry to attend the events in Baghdad.
  4. Establishing an official digital platform dedicated to tourism promotion and marketing under the name “Visit Iraq”.
  5. Forming a Supreme Tourism Committee in Iraq, responsible for developing tourism strategies and empowered with broad decision-making authority.

This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to position Baghdad as a leading tourist destination at both the Arab and international levels.
