Ministerial Committee Visits the College of Tourism Sciences to Discuss the Reactivation of Academic Programs

The Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, received the ministerial committee assigned to follow up on the college’s status and examine the possibility of lifting the suspension of its academic activities. The visit took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Lecturer Zaid Raad Al-Sammak also welcomed the committee.
The committee was composed of several specialists from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Wafaa Hameed Abbas, Director of the Department of Studies and Planning, and included the following members:
- Dr. Salman Dawood Salman
- Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Ismail Ahmed
- Assistant Lecturer Israa Abbas Abadi
During the visit, the committee conducted a field tour that covered several academic departments, classrooms, and the laboratory. They also examined the college’s infrastructure and administrative system. Additionally, the committee reviewed the academic curricula and reports related to faculty members and students, aiming to assess the current situation and submit their recommendations to the Ministry regarding the reactivation of academic programs in the college.
This visit is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to ensure the quality of education and to verify that colleges comply with established academic standards.
