Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the scientific departments held their regular meeting. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Talal Khudhur, Head of the Department of Tourism Studies, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Abdullah Hussein, Head of the Department of Hotel Studies, met with the teaching staff in the departments, in the presence of the department rapporteurs, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, to follow up on key administrative and academic matters.

The meeting addressed several essential topics aimed at enhancing academic performance and ensuring the college’s readiness for the upcoming stage. The main points discussed were as follows:

• Reviewing the research progress of faculty members by assessing each department’s research plan and comparing actual progress with the approved targets.
• Encouraging scientific publication in international databases, particularly Scopus-indexed journals.
• Updating faculty members’ CVs in Arabic and English and uploading them electronically in the approved formats to be ready upon request, especially during official visits and institutional evaluations.
• Identifying incomplete research projects within the research plan and taking appropriate actions to ensure their completion within the set timeframe, emphasizing adherence to the timeline.
• Preparing for upcoming evaluation visits by compiling and documenting essential files and continuously updating academic and administrative data.
• Discussing proposals to develop the scientific research environment, including organizing training workshops for faculty on international publishing and promoting collaborative research.
