College of Tourism Sciences Holds a Workshop on Public Employee Rights and Their Role in Combating Corruption

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Rafat Khalid, the college organized a workshop titled “The Rights of Public Employees and Their Role in Reducing Financial and Administrative Corruption” on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit.

The workshop aimed to raise employees’ awareness of their legal rights and to promote a culture of integrity and transparency within the work environment.

The session was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Ubaid Owaid, who discussed the legal framework governing public employees’ rights and its role in strengthening integrity and limiting forms of corruption within governmental institutions.

The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, Mr. Zaid Raad Younis, the Administrative Assistant Dean, along with several staff members. The event also included fruitful discussions that emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of respect for the law and reinforcing the principles of transparency and accountability in the workplace.

This workshop is part of a series of educational and awareness-raising activities that the college undertakes to enhance legal and administrative awareness, support institutional reform efforts, and combat corruption.

This activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) , Goal 5 (Gender Equality) , Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by reinforcing transparency, accountability, and efforts to reduce administrative and financial corruption.
