The College of Tourism Sciences Organizes a Training Course on Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, the College launched on Sunday, November 2, 2025, a training course entitled “The Role of Legislation and Laws in Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption and Its Impact on the Development of the Tourism Sector.” The course will continue until November 6, 2025.
The first day of the course began with a lecture titled “The Nature of Administrative Corruption: Diagnosis and Means of Combating It,” delivered by Dr. Suzan Marwan Basheer from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The lecture addressed the fundamental concepts of administrative corruption, its main manifestations, and methods to curb it within modern legal and administrative frameworks.
The session was attended by the Dean of the College, the Assistant Deans, department heads, as well as several faculty members and staff.
This course aims to promote a culture of accountability and combat corruption in all its forms, thereby contributing to the establishment of strong and just institutions. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which calls for supporting justice and reinforcing the principles of integrity and transparency in society.
