Department of Hotel Studies Holds a Workshop on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Tourism

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the Department of Hotel Studies, in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, held a workshop entitled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence and Modern Technologies in Tourism.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Fahad Rashid and Assistant Lecturer Amjad Ibrahim Jandari on Sunday, 4 January 2026, in one of the college halls.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Heads of the Scientific Departments, and a number of faculty members and staff. It aimed to introduce the concept of artificial intelligence, highlight the most prominent modern technologies, and explain their role in developing the tourism sector, improving service quality, and keeping pace with digital transformation.
The organization of this workshop comes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
