Meeting of the College of Tourism Sciences Council
The College of Tourism Sciences Council held its periodic meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, and attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr Manal Raafat Khalid, the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr Zina Zuhair Mohammed Sheet and all council members.
The Dean opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, praising the efforts of all faculty members and expressing his appreciation for their continuous contributions to advancing academic and educational processes.
During the session, the council discussed several key agenda items, including:
- Preparations for the start of the second semester and the necessary arrangements.
- Updating the vision, mission, and objectives of the college and its academic departments in alignment with modern developments in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
- Reviewing the administrative structure of the college and exploring the possibility of establishing new units to enhance administrative performance.
This meeting aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) by focusing on the enhancement of academic programs and learning environments, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting efficient, transparent, and accountable institutional governance that supports sustainable development within the university and the broader community.
