The Colleges of Tourism Sciences at the University of Mosul and Al-Salam University in Baghdad Sign a Twinning and Joint Scientific Cooperation Agreement

As part of the scientific cooperation program among universities and educational institutions initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmood, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, visited Al-Salam University College / Department of Tourism Sciences, where the two colleges signed a twinning agreement that included several areas of collaboration, most notably: curriculum development and unification of syllabi, organizing training workshops, supervising student projects, as well as delivering joint lectures and examinations.

High-level academics attended the signing ceremony, as the agreement was signed by the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences at the University of Mosul, Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmood, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, and the Dean of Al-Salam University College, Prof. Dr. Abdulsalam Badiwi Yousif, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sabeeh Karam Al-Kanani.

The significance of this twinning agreement lies in strengthening academic collaboration between the two colleges, which contributes to the exchange of expertise and the development of teaching methods in line with international standards. It also represents an important opportunity to enhance the standing of both colleges through curriculum alignment and academic program integration, ultimately benefiting students by developing their scientific and practical skills and increasing their employability.

This twinning agreement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly (Goal 4, as it promotes quality education through curriculum development and academic knowledge exchange), (Goal 17, as it supports effective partnerships between educational institutions to improve academic outcomes), and (Goal 8, as it enhances students’ employability by strengthening their academic and practical skills).
