Dams Researches and Water Resources Center

Within the Sustainable Development Festival, which was held on May 7 in the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall, and within the “Success Stories” event presented by the research centers at our university.

Prof. Dr. Qutaiba T. Al-Youzbakey presented a specific lecture entitled (Investing water and its energy to develop our rural communities). The lecture included a presentation about the field experiment conducted by the research staff at the center in using water filtration systems to reduce salt concentrations in well water with the aim of make it suitable for domestic purposes.

The lecture also presented a computer application prepared by Prof. Dr. Anas Mahmoud M. Rashid about the possibility of establishing and installing small hydroelectric stations on some selected rivers to generate electrical energy that meets the requirements of residential complexes such as villages adjacent or close to rivers under the concept of producing clean energy that does not affect the nature of the river water.
