Dams Researches and Water Resources Center

Professor Dr. Hadir Ghazi Mohammed Adeeb, a researcher and lecturer at our center, participated in the first International Scientific Conference on Energy and the Environment, ICEED 24, held in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, at Knowledge University from June 5-6, 2024. The conference, titled “Future Prospects for Developing Renewable Energy: Environmental Solutions and Challenges,” was organized in partnership with the International Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy (AIRDUSA.com), Knowledge University, the International Universities Union, and the Eco Organization.

The conference aimed to address several objectives, including finding alternative and safe clean energy sources, tackling the massive pollution crisis caused by toxic gas emissions, discovering water sources through power plants, and developing alternative irrigation methods to ensure self-sufficiency in agriculture.

The conference concluded with several key recommendations, including:

1. Prioritizing the reduction of soil, water, and air pollution.
2. Implementing strict measures to control pollution from oil sources, vehicles, and electrical generators to mitigate environmental degradation and health risks.
3. Managing water resources using modern and innovative irrigation technologies.
4. Supporting climate change projects.
5. Developing and implementing energy conservation policies.

The conference was attended by numerous participants and speakers, experts in the fields of environment and energy from Iraq and various Arab and foreign countries.
