Dams and Geotechnic Department
It performs researches and studies concerning the established dams. The departments study the impact of dams operation on the geotechnical situation of the dam from different aspects. It is mainly concern with the effects of tectonic and induced earthquakes on the dam, as well as the developments of underground cavities as results of the leaching rocks in the dam’s foundation and putting the remedical solution to this problem. The department also deals with conducting preliminary and, later on, comprehensive studies concerning preliminary planning and land’s suitability of establishing new dams
