University of Mosul President Opens Training Workshop for the National Council for Accreditation of Educational College Programs

In line with the University of Mosul’s mission to fulfill the essential requirements for achieving programmatic accreditation across its academic units, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University, inaugurated on Sunday, August 3, 2025, the training workshop held in collaboration with the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation / Accreditation Department / Scientific and Humanities Accreditation Councils Division, and the University’s Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance.
The workshop was titled:
“Common Errors in Writing the Self-Evaluation Report and the Matching Process.”
In his opening remarks, the University President emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of quality within academic institutions. He reaffirmed the University of Mosul’s commitment to implementing rigorous, scientific standards for program accreditation and to elevating both academic and administrative performance in alignment with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop was attended by representatives from several Iraqi universities, including Tikrit, Samarra, Al-Hamdaniya, Tal Afar, Al-Hadbaa, Nineveh, and Al-Noor University College. Also in attendance was Prof. Dr. Noha Salim Mohammed, Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Mosul.

and Prof. Dr. Fathi Taha Mishael.
The two-day workshop addresses the most common errors in preparing self-evaluation reports and presents practical solutions in line with the standards and guidelines set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The primary goal of the workshop is to establish precise and scientifically grounded pathways for achieving program accreditation, by improving the methodology of self-evaluation reporting and enhancing the competencies of participants in this vital area—ultimately supporting Iraqi academic institutions in their pursuit of accreditation and improved educational quality.
