Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research: A Scientific Vision for Supporting Sustainability.

Based on the directives of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Ibrahim, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel, Director of the Dry and Rainfed Agriculture Research Center, the Center has begun its preliminary preparations to participate in the activities of the University Sustainable Week. The Central Sustainability Exhibition will be held at the arcades (The White Walkway) near the Student Center.

The Center’s participation aims to highlight its key scientific and research activities in achieving agricultural sustainability, through presenting conservation agriculture techniques, particularly modern seed drills, and their role in improving resource use efficiency and preserving soil fertility in arid environments.

The Center’s pavilion will also showcase its most important ongoing projects in the field of sustainable agriculture, which contribute to enhancing food security and addressing environmental challenges and climate change. In addition, it will present applied models that reflect the integration between scientific research and field implementation.

This participation comes in line with the University of Mosul’s orientation toward supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to Zero Hunger, Climate Action, and Life on Land, through adopting modern and sustainable agricultural practices that serve the community and promote development.
