Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research (C.AFCAR) Conducts Agricultural Genetic Readings.

   Under the supervision of the Head of the Genetic Resources Department (Assistant Professor Dr. Maan Mohammed Salih), a specialized team from the AFCAR Center carried out an important field activity on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The activity involved taking precise readings of the genetic traits related to the experiments of the Genetic Resources Department.

  This activity is part of the scientific efforts aimed at enhancing the genetic database and supporting breeding and agricultural improvement programs. It contributes to the development of crop varieties that are more capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions and achieving sustainable food security.

  This activity aligns with a number of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land).
