The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research received a delegation from World Vision International on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, in a visit aimed at exploring prospects for joint cooperation and discussing the Green Cover Restoration Project in Ninawa Governorate. The visit sought to strengthen environmental sustainability and support the agricultural sector across the governorate.

  The meeting featured extensive discussions on the key components of the project and mechanisms for its implementation. The proposed activities encompass several important initiatives and projects, most notably the Pastureland Restoration Project, the Conservation Agriculture Project, and the Genetic Material Multiplication Project, in addition to the Forage Plants Project.   These initiatives aim to improve vegetation cover, enhance the efficient use of natural resources, and strengthen the capacity of local communities to respond to environmental challenges and climate change.

  Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between research institutions and international organizations to develop scientific and practical solutions that contribute to restoring degraded ecosystems, improving the productivity of agricultural land, and advancing sustainable agricultural development in Nineveh Governorate.

  The themes addressed during the visit are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger; SDG 13: Climate Action; SDG 15: Life on Land; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
