Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research`s

  Based on the directive of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Directorate of Research and Development / Secretariat of the Scientific Research Authority, reference number 5207 dated 19/06/2023, which includes the approval for the establishment of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul, the center was officially established under University Order No. 1/8/23899 on 08/08/2023.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research operates with the vision:
“The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul aims to be the fundamental pillar of sustainable agricultural development in Iraq.”

The center specializes in the management of rain fed agriculture and water resources, Investment rainwater harvesting as well as the use of both fresh and saline groundwater. Its mission is to serve the community by identifying and addressing the human, economic, and environmental challenges of the agricultural sector, and by leading in the planning and implementation of promising sustainable development projects within the province and across Iraq.
