Workshop titled “Combating Human Trafficking in Iraq”.

   On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the Center Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s (C.AFCAR), in collaboration with the Center of Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence, held a workshop titled “Combating Human Trafficking in Iraq”. The workshop was attended by Assistant Agricultural Engineer Iman Akram Abdul Hakim, representing AFCAR Center, and Mr. Mustafa Ahmed Fuad, senior lecturer and researcher at CPPC. The event highlighted the challenges Iraq faces in this sensitive issue and emphasized the importance of coordination among research, security, and community institutions to address it.
The workshop covered several key topics, most notably: defining the concept of human trafficking and its forms in Iraqi society, the socio-economic impacts of this phenomenon, methods of prevention and community awareness, and finally, the role of academic and research institutions in supporting national policies.
This workshop is part of a series of significant activities aimed at promoting a culture of human rights and building a safe and cohesive society. It also contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
