An awareness workshop at the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches on the effects of nuclear weapons and conflicts on the environment and humans.

As part of a series of important activities organized by the the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches aimed at promoting a culture of human rights and building a safe and coexisting society, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches held a scientific awareness workshop on Sunday, September 28, 2025, titled “Spreading Awareness of the Impact of Nuclear Weapons and Conflicts on the Environment and Humans,” with the presence of a selection of researchers and agricultural engineers from the center’s staff.
The workshop featured a scientific lecture delivered by Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Ali, who discussed the environmental and health impacts resulting from the use of nuclear weapons, in addition to interventions from Agricultural Engineer Assistant Iman Akram Abdul Hakeem.
The workshop aimed to enhance community awareness of the dangers of nuclear pollution and conflicts on the environment and humans, and to highlight the importance of scientific research in addressing these issues within the framework of sustainable development and the protection of natural resources.
This workshop is part of the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
