The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s (C.AFCAR) / University of Mosul continues its training program on conservation agriculture for the second consecutive day, following the remarkable success achieved over the past two agricultural seasons in implementing this modern and sustainable farming approach.
Today’s Tuesday 4 October 2025 activities were held at the Aiyadiya Agricultural Division and the Tal Afar Agricultural Division, following earlier sessions conducted at the Sinjar Agricultural Division. These efforts come as part of the center’s continuous mission to promote sustainable agricultural practices across Nineveh Province.
The program was delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Al-Tuwail and Dr. Adnan Abd Ahmed, who provided an in-depth explanation of the importance of conservation agriculture in reducing production costs, optimizing water use under supplemental irrigation systems, and protecting the environment through water harvesting and the retention of crop residues in the field.
This activity aligns with the university’s vision of “The University in Service of the Community” and aims to disseminate sustainable agricultural technologies among farmers, contributing to enhanced productivity and long-term resource sustainability.
