“Ghiras Al-Rahma” (Planting Mercy): Environmental Campaign Launched at Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches , Inspired by Prophetic Guidance.
Based on the directives of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and inspired by the noble Prophetic guidance on reviving and cultivating the land, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Researches launched an environmental campaign titled “Ghiras Al-Rahma” (Planting Mercy) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The campaign aimed to plant tree species suitable for the local environment and climate, thereby contributing to the enhancement of vegetation cover and the improvement of the environmental situation in Iraq. All researchers and agricultural engineers working at the Center participated in the campaign.
The “Ghiras Al-Rahma” campaign is considered an effective step towards establishing a culture of afforestation and environmental awareness.
This initiative is part of the Center’s efforts to support environmental sustainability and emphasizes the importance of climate action, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
